Azerbaijan chairs BSEC meeting on tourism

On December 3, the 3rd Meeting of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC) Working Group on Tourism was held in an online format, under the chairmanship of Azerbaijan and with the participation of representatives from the State Tourism Agency (STA) of Azerbaijan.

The meeting was opened by Jalil Mammadov, Deputy Chief of Staff and Head of the International Relations Department of STA, alongside Dimitrios Rallis, Deputy Secretary General of BSEC.

Representatives from Türkiye, Georgia, Armenia, Greece, Romania, Russia, Moldova, North Macedonia, and Ukraine attended the session, where Azerbaijan’s priorities and activities during its 2023-2024 BSEC chairmanship were discussed. The participants exchanged views on potential tourism projects and collaboration opportunities within the framework of the organization.

Member states were also briefed on the "Tourism Day" events held during COP29, hosted by Azerbaijan in November, as well as the initiative to join the Glasgow Declaration on climate action in tourism.
At the conclusion of the session, the "2023-2024 BSEC Working Group on Tourism Cooperation Action Plan" was formally approved.
